With the hull mostly built up, focus turns to detailing the stern galleries. The sculpted detail, including rails and columns in the facade, are provided as nicely cast white metal parts… but there are oh-so-many!
I haven’t summarized the additional articles in each installment’s booklet, but they include historical pieces as well as construction tips and how-to’s.
Part 52
Includes a cannon and the stern friezes. Instructions cover assembly of same.
Part 53
“Transom embellishments” and cannonballs. Assembly of same, and planking the forecastle and quarterdeck.
Part 54
The entire stern lantern assembly is provided in nice metal castings. Assembly of same, and how to paint two included figurines.
Part 55
Three cannons and assembly of same, including the many blocks required for each.
Part 56
A cannon and parts for the starboard quarterdeck gallery.
Part 57
More parts for the starboard gallery.
Part 58
Two cannons and more starboard gallery parts.
Part 59
Another cannon, and now we move to the port side gallery.
Part 60
More frames and columns for the port side gallery.
As usual, you can find out all about the Sovereign of the Seas kit from DeAgostini’s UK web site:

I keep checking the DeAgostini USA site for SotS availability in North America; nothing at this time!
